Introducing Ranplan 6.5
Our latest software release incorporates efficiencies that will enable you to cater from ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) through to BOM (Bill of Materials).
RF Designers' time is often wasted on detailed network designs for project proposals that have no guaranteed outcome. Key features within Ranplan 6.5 will greatly reduce the time spent on ROM designs, allowing them to allocate their resource proportionally to the project status. Once a project is won, RF designers can take advantage of our new configuration features to help them replicate the capabilities of network components in their truest form.

Fast preliminary designs with Environmental Zone Modelling
- Quickly predict the wireless coverage performance of your simple small-medium sized projects or draft network design proposals with our new simplified propagation engine, Environmental Zone.
- Simply define your 3D indoor environmental zones rather than model every single wall, door, window and other structures using the rectangle or polygon zone tools.
- Generate a 3D heatmap of your project environment (e.g. a building or floor) to help you evaluate your network design and propose initial concepts and quotes to customers.
- Combine the Environmental Zone Modelling capability with the Automatic Cell Optimiser to swiftly and cost-effectively generate optimised network designs for smaller projects.
Accelerate cable configuration with the new Riser functionality
- The Riser collates multiple cables into one physical vertical location for feeding through from one floor to another. This greatly reduces the time spent connecting devices across multiple floors.
- The software will automatically select the best routine and best riser configuration based on the user's preference.
- Cable height is automatically assigned based on the floor height but can be customised if needed.
Easy power sharing configuration for Digital (CPRI) signal systems
- Balance the power across different operators, systems, services, channels and bandwidth by automatically tuning the attenuation or gain levels of the adjustable devices.
- Using the simple interface, you can set power levels to model the reduced power capability of devices.
- MIMO path balancing is supported to show the best results from MIMO gain.
- Pre-set configurations and power sharing schemes for re-use across projects.

- Enhanced visual quality of the network designs to allow for scalability of print outs.
